14-1 @ MAC Friendship
The team’s focus and goals for this tournament were to: play mentally tough games and serve strategically tough. The players did really well supporting each other in positive ways and recover from previous mistakes. We also worked on short serves and gave us an advantage against few tough teams but we let few of those sets get away from us at the end by giving up runs.
We are looking forward to get back in the gym and adding more tools on our belt: focus on finishing matches strong and maximize our offense opportunities – give no free points/balls!
18-1 @ Lonestar Classic
For the very FIRST time ever, THN brought a team down to the Lonestar Classic usually held in Dallas, TX but this yr the 18s division was held in Houston! Greeted with an absolutely beautiful sunny day, the crew hung out at the incredible lazy river pool at team hotel. Followed that up with 2 back to back days of going undefeated (3&0 twice) earning them a spot in the quarters in the Gold division. Unfortunately lost a tight match in 3 to a slightly bigger, tougher & more sound team. Hopeful lessons learned, personal challenges surfaced, & team chooses to take more risks, play more disciplined & compete with more urgency! And now, off to Denver for Crossroads! #HNLG
