We’re coming down the home stretch. Only four weeks left in the season. Don’t forget to send in any pictures for the end of season party or of your spring break in Hiki No gear.
14-2 Friendship
Today from the first set to the last the girls looked hungry to be back on the court after some rest and recovery. They had specific goals and skills they wanted to accomplish in the games and seeing them execute and have success was awesome. They found improvement in communication with teammates and how to be a part of the team on and off the court. Through respect and listening to teammates the communication was showed a lot of improvement. There are still areas to work on in practice, but huge strides today for these amazing girls who have found how to come together and perform what we have been practicing all season.
12s Power League
Being on spring break for two weeks was great for the mind, body and soul. However, on the court was a different story. Our 12’s came out the gates slowly with lots of cob-webs. As the day progressed we showed everyone we weren’t going to be made an example of. After losing to Rose City Black in 2 (1st match), we bounced back and beat Excel 1’s in a 3-set thriller to claim 2nd spot in pool play. Going into the X-Over with lots of energy and confidence, we won the first set 31-29, then leading in the 2nd (22-19) we did the inevitable, we ran out of gas and lost 25-23, 15-6 to OJ’s.
Its back to the drawing board on Wednesday, to prepare for our last PL and regionals which is a couple weeks away. The team came to the conclusion that we had a very bad PL and will finish this season on a good note. So, stay tuned and cheer our 12’s on as they put in the hard work to finish 2017 respectively.
18-2 Final Power League
Once again, so close to the championship game but let it slip away in a 3 game match to NW Reign in the first round of bracket play. It was a hard fought match with our girls dominating first game with great team work and chemistry. Our biggest hurdle is making that decision to play hard all the time! At the beginning of club season we saw glimpses of good play, now we see good play all the time with only a few down moments, the improvement just keeps showing. The girls continue to keep moving forward and improve individually and as a team, making us proud. I do believe we will be a force come regionals!
18-1 Final Power League
“COMMIT”! The word of the last wk & wknd or so…at our final PL tourney of the season, we had a solid ‘workmans like’ mentality & effort throughout with a golden opportunity to win our pool but with 3 tipped balls dropping due to lack of “commitment” & personal ownership, we came up short against Athena’s talented 17s group. Will be interesting to see which players choose to take more personal responsibility & accountability for themselves in our last few wks of the season & also looking fwd to the return of Bri & Janey back from injuries…’COMMIT’ to yourself, your team & your own legacy! HIKI NO!!! 😉
