We are near the halfway point of the season and starting to see the Hiki No curve in effect. It’s been a very busy February. This past weekend, three of our 14s teams moved up a division with two of the teams winning their bracket! 18-1 finished 21st out of 71 teams at the Colorado Crossroads National Qualifier. Earlier this month, the 16-1 team became the second team in TEAM Hiki No history & FIRST in that age division, to reach the Platinum division, after winning the Gold bracket. The 18-2 team finished 5th out of 32 at the NW Jr’s President’s Day Tournament. The 12s finished second in their power league bracket and moved up a division. There’s a little over two months left in the season & let’s see how high this curve can get!
There’s a few upcoming events. 12s, 16s and 18s are in Power League action this weekend. The coaches, some of our 18s, & extended TEAM HIKI NO Ohana, will all be in action at the CEVA adult tournament on March 14 at the Courts in Beaverton. We encourage everyone to come out and watch some high level volleyball that day. There will be numerous former collegiate players, including a few All-Americans, playing in both the men’s and women’s tournament that day.
For those of you that haven’t joined the TEAM Hiki No facebook page or heard from someone else, we’ve had parents streaming some of our games on Ustream LIVE! It’s a great way for parents, friends, & other age groups to watch and support when they can’t travel to the game sites that day. If anyone is going to live stream, be sure to get the word out by posting on our facebook page. If you search for TEAM Hiki No on Ustream, you will see the archived games.
Thanks again for all the love and support at all levels. We’re looking forward to the last two months of the season, and as always, Hiki No!
